Welcome to Ampleforth & Hovingham Surgeries

Seasonal Flu Vaccinations

Seasonal flu vaccinations will be available for eligible patients from the end of September.  Information about who is eligible for the flu vaccination this year can be found on the NHS Choices Website.

If you have an appointment at the surgery, please ask to have the flu vaccination at the same time.  If you do not want the flu vaccination this year, please let the surgery know so that we can add this to your medical record.

Job Vacancies

We are currently advertising for cleaners at both Ampleforth Surgery and Hovingham Surgery.  Please click here for more information.

Surgery Building Project

Please follow the link here or click on the Surgery Building Project page on the right for details of the major building project which is about to start at Ampleforth Surgery, along with answers to some frequently asked questions.

The dispensary will be based at our Hovingham Surgery during the build, although prescriptions can be collected from both St Benedict's House Ampleforth and Hovingham Surgery.  We ask patients to give the surgery 3 working days’ notice when ordering their repeat medications.

Please note that we are in the process of changing over our telephone system to allow us to divert calls during the build.  For the next few weeks you will be asked to 'press 1' when you ring the surgery before you are put through to the main message.  We apologise for this extra step when you ring, and the message will go back to normal once the telephone system is completely changed over.

We will keep the website updated with news and progress about the build.

Staff Training Surgery Closure

Ampleforth and Hovingham Surgeries will be closed on Tuesday 14th November 2017 from 1pm for staff training.

For more information about the staff training and arrangements during the surgery closure, please see our Latest News.

Book Sale

There will be a sale of books in the conservatory at Ampleforth Surgery.  Books will cost £1 each and all proceeds will go towards new medical equipment for the surgery.  If you wish to donate any books please drop them it at reception.

Patient Forum

It has been designed with the patient’s needs at the forefront of everything, from checking surgery times to letting us know what you think of us.

Once registered, patients and healthcare professionals work together to ensure the most appropriate care is provided. This partnership philosophy extends even further and our active patient group exists to make sure that patient needs and the practice offering are always heading in the same direction.

Access

Ampleforth Surgery has ramp access from the car park at the front of the surgery. A handrail is also being installed to make it easier to access the surgery. Hovingham Surgery offers parking right outside the door on a flat surface which you may find easier.

If you require assistance please ring before visiting the surgery and we will be waiting to help.
