We’ve had several patients contact us about letters currently being delivered, and emails being circulated, by York Delivery Pharmacy offering free NHS prescription deliveries. We’d like to reassure everyone and clear up any confusion.

❌ It does not mean that our dispensary at Ampleforth Surgery is closing.
York Delivery Pharmacy is a distance-selling pharmacy based in York. If you complete and return the enclosed form, you will be changing your nominated pharmacy from our dispensary to York Delivery Pharmacy.
This is entirely your choice. However, it’s important to be aware that if you do switch:
📍 Your prescriptions will no longer be sent automatically to our dispensary.
📍 You will no longer be able to collect your medication from Ampleforth Surgery unless you change your nomination back.
If you’ve already returned the form but would prefer to remain with our dispensary, or if you have any questions about the letter, your pharmacy nomination, or what this means for you, please give us a call or speak to a member of our team—we’re always happy to help.
Our dispensing service plays an important role in supporting the long-term sustainability of rural general practice. The income generated from dispensing medicines helps us continue providing high-quality healthcare services to our local community.
